TESTIMONIALS

“I can recommend Ági with all my heart for people with all of the ages and with any levels of knowledge. This is rare to find someone with a great sense of pedagogy and a big knowledge in musical theory and in the practical part as well. She introduces the world of music and piano through the pieces you choose. You can organise the lessons’ timing by individual needs so if a life situation happens you don't have to give up learning the piano. Everyone who chooses Ági can learn in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.”

Attila Erőss, 39

“I found Ági's Facebook profile by accidentally and how I had planned for a while to get involved more deeply in leaning the piano I thought I took a chance. Well, it seemed to a really great decision - Ági is kind and patient and the opportunity to reorganise the timing of the lessons was the most important thing to me and helped me a lot because my work was unpredictable. I recommend her with all my heart for those who want to indulge more deeply in the world of this beautiful instrument.”

Paul Bulicza, 40

“She had taught me for 8 years and today she is still my favourite teacher! Each session was a great experience! She taught me everything about not only the music but she encouraged me I could try out everything! She brought a lot more out of me I thought I am capable of. I wish everyone to have a teacher like her!”

Sári Simics, 14

“We were very lucky to have Ági for introducing the world of music to my son. During all the years the atmosphere was relaxed and the teaching was consequent. Ági was great in handling the different moods of my son. Ups and downs which is normal. It was very important to us that all the tasks were chosen on the basis of his mood during the given lesson. Learning music theory wasn't exhausting as I had heard from others. Christmas Concerts are unforgettable. All of them were real joy to everyone to my son and my family as well. Im grateful. “

Katalin Hanzséros, mother

“I like learning piano from Ági because she is kind, attentive and patient. I could choose any song or melody, I was taught. I even got my own sheets. That’s why I recommend Ági to everyone, and because I like her.“

Bori, 7

“I am really glad that I have found Ági to be my piano teacher. A great introductory online course has been chosen carefully tailored to my personal needs. Ági flexibly adapted to my somewhat hectic schedule. She introduced me the basic fundamentals such as the right posture, music theory and the importance of the scales. Ági is very knowledgeable and consequently teaches her students with clear and easy to understand methods. The online learning experience is second to none without compromise thanks to the state of the art technology (multiple cameras) meeting 21st Century needs. She is an extremely patient, cheerful and kind teacher. I can warmly recommend her to anyone! I would definitely continue my piano studies with her in the near future. Thank you, Ági”

PRACTICAL INFORMATION ABOUT TAKING PIANO LESSONS

  • I teach piano online and in person as well. If you are interested in personal tuition you have to agree on learning online in my absence as well, because I travel sometimes.

  • Piano lessons can be 60-90 minutes in length. It is recommended to take lessons on a weekly basis but it is up to you how many times a week.

  • The first occasion happens online, and its free. It is about getting to know each other, talk about goals, rules, individual needs and likes.

  • About price information please feel free to contact me! You can pay by cash or bank transfer.

  • To be successful in learning it needs to take lessons regularly. You can choose from 2 types of season tickets. 10 times ticket and annual. It is not possible to cancel any of the pre-arranged sessions, you can only modify the dates! More information can be requested by contacting me!

  • For learning piano you must have the opportunity to practise on an instrument and you will need a music book as well. If you don’t have a piano but you still would like to learn it is possible but in that case only in person. In that latter case sometimes keeping the sessions can be tricky because I might travel in the future, but text me anyway. We’ll discuss if we can figure out something or not. It is important to establish your learning goal. On the one hand there are people who want to achieve results on the other hand there are people who take lessons just for fun and for stress management. Either way, you must keep in mind, just as with doing sports, without practise we can’t improve.

  • Because of the Online sessions everyone will need a bigger display monitor and a great internet connection! During the first appointment I will help you to set up the equipments!

  • What levels of knowledge can you take lessons with? I graduated in elementary classical piano teaching though my musical interest extends way beyond that. I am not a jazz pianist - I am learning it - but I am interested in all the compositional and improvisational music styles, from the pop, through the electronic and the classical. My favourite genre is film music. Do feel free to contact me to find out if I can help you with your goals and interests.

HOW I BECAME A PIANO TEACHER? TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I was 8 years old when I started to learn piano. I was admitted to the 10th district’s Music School in Budapest. Teréz Horváth became my piano teacher. After many successful piano competitions at my age 13 i was admitted to the Hungarian Liszt Ferenc Music Academy Preparatory Course for Talented Children. I learnt piano there by Gábor Eckhardt. When I became 17 I gave up my music studies but after graduating high school I applied to the ELTE University Music Teaching and Conducting Course where I learnt piano teaching as well by Erika Hornyánszkyné Becht . My piano teacher was Imre Pátkai. After graduation I felt I need to try out new things in my life so I started to work in other different fields though music never stopped taking part of my life. I learnt music producing at Impro, I took jazz piano and jazz singing lessons and composing became one of my favourite hobbies. After a little while there came an opportunity to teach piano in private. I fell in love with this activity - and the feedback from my students was also great - so I became a piano teacher. Today I teach children and adults as well in a mental health philosophical view by Carl Rogers.

I’d like to tell a bit about my musical taste cause it’s very openminded. When I was a child I used to grow up at the biggest Programs Hall of Budapest - called Hungarian as BS - where my father worked. I could listen to many concerts with several different music styles there. These experiences determined my musical taste which means we can love all the different styles at the same time. I love them all cause they are interesting and exciting to me and always show something new to discover. Music is a language which we can use to connect with each other and magic that makes our lives more beautiful. Music expresses our soul and it helps to be empathetic and live authentically our emotions. I believe we all have a really complex personality with many faces, so this means we don't need having problems with loving different musical styles. It makes our lives more colorful and helps us to connect with each other, firstly ourselves.

Philosophy of Teaching Method

I teach piano not in a "prepared in advance" way. We make goals together and we tailor them to the individual needs. I think it is important to take responsibility when we learn something. We can't play an instrument without passion. I believe we know what we like and everyone can play music and I think one thing effects mostly the result of studying! Love what we do, cause the more time we spend on it the more we can play!
